ABU DHABI FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP from May 14, 2010

Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan and sanctioned by the UAE Wrestling, Judo & Jiu-Jitsu Federation, I SEE Events announce the launch of ADFC™, an Open-Weight Mixed Martial Arts Championship on May 14th at ADNEC with a Grand Prix of 1,000,000 AED. Local and international fighters will compete to win the ADFC™ Title and the Grand Prix.

ADFC™ aims to establish itself as the premier MMA event in the region. This organization places great emphasis on local talent, the fighters of the UAE and Gulf Region. They want to support the local community and promote the clubs and their fighters. The event is going to be a platform for these fighters to exhibit their skills and talent, and propel them into the international spotlight.

International champions alongside local fighters will participate in the tournament which will take place over three events, the first of which is on May 14th.

ADFC™ promotes mixed martial arts as being about discipline, skill, agility and most importantly, mental strength. These factors make this sport more than just mindless fighting and brawling. It is about having a healthy lifestyle, training, physical education and perseverance, all of which are advantageous to today’s youth. This is why they want to introduce this sport to them, as a way to channel their energy while training their bodies and minds.
